1. Privacy at a glance
POOPPAL is a personal bowel-habit and gut-wellness tracker designed to keep sensitive records under your control. Detailed health records stay on your devices and private iCloud. We do not sell health or community data or share it with advertisers.
2. Information you choose to enter
POOPPAL can store bowel-movement time, Bristol type, colour, amount, effort, feeling, duration, notes, food flags, display name, profile image and app preferences. The app uses these records to provide history, scores, trends, correlations, reminders, exports and reports.
3. Storage, iCloud and Android backup
On Apple platforms, records are stored locally with Core Data. If you enable iCloud sync, records are also stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database so they can sync across your Apple devices. POOPPAL's developer cannot browse the contents of your private CloudKit database.
On Android, records are stored locally. Android backup or device-transfer services may copy app data according to your Google account and device settings.
4. Optional online community
The online community is off by default. If you explicitly join, POOPPAL creates an anonymous account and stores an app-generated identifier, alias, emoji avatar, invite code, date-level check-ins, streak, aggregate social points, friend and challenge state, moderation actions, and any live presence you switch on. An APNs device token is stored only if you allow notifications.
The community server does not receive Bristol type, stool colour, amount, effort, feeling, session duration, notes, photos, water, food, sleep, steps or HealthKit-derived values. Community data is used only for the requested social features, security, notifications and moderation. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Photos and on-device analysis
On supported Apple devices, you may take a stool photo to receive a suggested Bristol type. The image is processed in memory on the device and discarded after analysis. POOPPAL does not save or upload the image. The suggestion is for wellness tracking only and is not a diagnosis.
6. Apple Health and Health Connect
With your explicit permission, POOPPAL can read sleep, steps and hydration data from Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect to show personal context and correlations. Access is optional and read-only. POOPPAL does not send this health data to its own server, and you can revoke permission in system settings.
7. Purchases
Apple processes purchases through the App Store and Google processes purchases through Google Play. POOPPAL receives product and entitlement status but does not receive your full payment-card details.
8. Advertising
The Apple version does not include third-party advertising. The free Google Play version may use Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, approximate location derived from IP address and consent choices to deliver, measure, secure and, where permitted, personalise ads. Premium removes in-app advertising.
POOPPAL never supplies bowel records, notes, photos, HealthKit data or Health Connect data to advertisers.
9. Analytics and platform reports
The current Apple version does not send product-usage analytics to POOPPAL or an external analytics provider. Apple and Google may provide developers with aggregated storefront, purchase, crash and performance reports under their own terms.
10. Export, sharing and deletion
You can export records and choose an app or person to receive them. POOPPAL shares data only after you initiate the system share flow. You can erase POOPPAL data in Settings. Deleting the app removes local data subject to operating-system backups; iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud settings.
You can disconnect from the online community at any time. Community Privacy settings also let you permanently delete the anonymous server-side profile and related social data without deleting private on-device or private iCloud health records.
11. Security
On supported Apple devices, you may protect app access with Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID or the device passcode. Biometric matching is performed by the operating system; POOPPAL never receives biometric templates. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so keep your device and platform account protected.
12. Children and medical disclaimer
POOPPAL is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
POOPPAL is a wellness tracker, not a medical device. Scores, correlations, timing estimates, photo suggestions and educational content do not diagnose, prevent or treat disease. Seek qualified medical advice for concerns and prompt care for severe pain, blood in stool, black tarry stool, persistent symptoms, unexplained weight loss, fever, dehydration or an emergency.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as POOPPAL changes. The effective date identifies the latest version.
